That an unconditional, agenda-free spirit of forgiveness is essential to the character of the Orthodox Christian – – –

[Part 11 of 21]

«God’s compassion! We are dumbfounded in trying to analyze this great mystery. What God has done for humanity! A million tongues could not sing a hymn worthy of the beneficent God. But next to Him, what do we do? Are we thankful? Do we glorify God? Do we respect His holy Name? Do we frequent sacred places of worship? Do we carry out the divine commandments? Just the opposite! Ghastly is the account of our deeds. Every minute of the day, all over the globe, a plethora of sin is committed, but who sins? The scales of divine righteousness stand before everyone. Sinners, come and be weighed! … Everyone, of every age and class: come and be weighed!
